During the grape growing season, Eastern Washington boasts warm summer days followed by cool nights, ensuring that grapes ripen fully while retaining ample natural acidity. We let our Gewurztraminer attain a high level of ripeness before picking. The resultant wine has aromas of lychee and rose petal. The rich palate is medium-bodied, with lychee, true varietal flavors and a spiciness characteristic of Gewurztraminer. Soft and rich, with a balancing acidity and a slight mineral character, Gewürztraminer is excellent as an apéritif. Serve with Thai spring rolls, sweet and spicy pork lettuce wraps, or roast turkey with all the trimmings.
Aromas of spice, lychee and rose petals are followed by flavors of grapefruit and white peach. A subtle sweetness and bright acidity marry seamlessly to create this balanced wine. Ray Einberger, Winemaker
Chateau Ste Michelle Columbia Valley Gewurztraminer
Delightfully fresh, fragrant aroma of white peaches, lychee fruit, and rose petals, with a complexing hint of allspice. Its rich, lush, medium-dry flavors, echoing the wine's aromas, are beautifully balanced.
